Description

For groups beyond the introductory stage, we offer a deeper level of experiential learning focused on collaboration, critical thinking, and resilience.

Activities become more complex, requiring stronger teamwork and problem-solving. While shared experiences remain central to breaking down social barriers, we raise the stakes through:

  • Three-phase structure: Instruction → Activation → Debrief
  • Debrief discussions on trial-and-error learning, group frustration, and the emotional journey from challenge to success
  • Emphasis on personal resilience, communication, and group processing

This level fosters a more collaborative mindset and prepares students to navigate real-world challenges with confidence and empathy

Activity Types

Team Canoeing

Participants begin with a brief canoeing clinic focused on safety and technique. Then, in 26-foot voyageur canoes, teams of ~10 work together on the water, applying their new skills in a fun, collaborative paddle.

Team Challenges & Initiatives

Groups face engaging challenges with no clear solutions. Success requires planning, communication, and team execution, followed by reflective debriefs to reinforce learning.

Build & Final Challenge

Teams design, build, and race a custom vessel using provided materials. Each team presents their creation and is recognized for creativity, teamwork, and performance in the final race.
